I was surprised at how easy it is to create a Google account, and how much easier it is for one to lose their password (ask Duane!!). I learned from the Search engine assignment that I will not direct my students towards Dogpile. I liked the Google search engine the best, in part because I am most familiar with Google, but also on a general search it returned more relevant sites. The advanced searches each returned even better results, but I have found that my students rarely use the advanced search feature. It was interesting seeing the District Internet Policy, although I did not mean to make more work for Jenn K. as we found out that our policy was not on the District web site. In the group project I learned a lot about Facebook, including how easy it is to set up an account (again, ask Duane as apparently it is so easy to set up an account that he didn't realize that he already had done so!). Kudos to Duane for polishing the Power Point presentation. The assignment that at present is the most useful to me is Web authoring software - Wiki page - assignment. With the increased emphasis on using technology in the classroom, it has been recommended to those high school teachers involved in the CFF that they create their own Wiki page. The one assignment that I will most likely never use is the HTML tags assignment. I will pay homage to Clinton's astronomical intelligence (he informed us that his IQ must be above the stratosphere as he uses and edits in HTML), but that does not change my opinion about HTML - I am not a really computer literate person and so will stick to teaching science!
